missold mortgage endowments

Just heard back from my building society after sending complaint about the misselling of my mortgage endowment policy. They are saying I am to late and should have done this by April 2006 and that the ombusman thingy agrees with them. They also say they sent me a letter in 2005 telling me how to complain but they didn't and I can't prove it. All I have ever received are yearly statements telling me what level of risk I may be at and what the predicted shortfall could be. I now realise I did not even receive a yearly statement in 2005 so presumably that must have been sent with the so called letter they sent me telling me how to make a complaint. Should I just give up or is there anything else I can do?
