I thought it was about time we reinstated Afternoon tea. I have missed our little Wednesday afternoon chats, and thought it would be nice to catch up again.
The kettle's on, I've baked scones and flapjacks. Come and join us. Everyone is welcome
(edit: my spelling hasn't improved since we last met!)

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times and I'll smash your face in.

I have a very nice wheetabix cake with apricots and sultanas, a banana bread, a banana bread with chocolate chips, some chocolate chip cookies and finally(for now)shortbread whirly things. Please help yourselves and dont hold back.....Enjoy.Blind as you run...aware you were staring at the sun.

Why Hello there !!
I quite agree, I like our afternoon teas. I havent had a Friday night party for a while either... Sometimes they could drag on for days !!
I have been gardening this afternoon, Im trying to make a cottage garden out of a flagged yard... Some flags up and baskets all round today, sick of drilling holes and my fingernails are dirty now.
Booked our Jollies yesterday, We are off to Canada for a week... How exiting.
Are the flapjacks cool yet.. Im starving. Ill only have one as il putting my tea on at 3, Im working tonight !0 -
Hi Guys

mind if I join you? Currently travelling at 120mph from London to Newcastle. The only refreshments I can offer are courtesy of GNER. It used to be called British Rail coffee, I suppose it isn't now, but they use the same supplier of brown tepid liquid.
Banana bread sounds wonderful.
Cheers :beer:0 -
Hello!
I'm newish, I am finding a lot of support through the forum, this week we have mostly faced up to the fact that my partner and I are close to the tipping point on our debts, but we have put in a plan to meet all our repayments on time, save money, budget, and get ourselves debt free in about 2 years... Today is the first shopping day I've done with a list and a budget in years, we're off tonight to enact it. My sandwiches were yummy today, we ran out of normal sandwich fillings yesterday, but we found some cheese in the fridge and so the cheese and salad cream butties were yummy.
it's good to know there are such other nice people out there who feel like me and want to do the right thing.
xx

How has life been treating you since we last had afternoon tea, Annie?
I have been quite poorly since New Year, but at last the doctor seems to have sorted out some medication that suits me and I am starting to feel better. Sometimes on a Thursday morning I pop into the local old people's home for a cup of tea and a chat and I was beginning to worry when the old ladies were making tea for me because they were fitter than me. One of them said, "Don't worry dear, it took the doctor 2 years before he got my tablets right, but I'm OK now":eek:Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times and I'll smash your face in.

Hi Mike, good to see you again. Canada sounds fabulous. Are you going just because you fancy it, or do you know someone there?

Well done Warby. You have come to the right place for support. There are some wonderful, helpful people on this board who will be able to advise you.
Take a look at the Old Style board for money saving recipes and shopping lists; and take a look at the Vouchers board for more ways to save on your shopping. You will soon wonder how you ever spent so much money.Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times and I'll smash your face in.
