Tesco is the only place I have seen them, frozen as posted above.
We have them in a veggie stirfry or just boiled as a veg with a roast dinner.Nevermind the dog, beware of the kids!0 -
I love them too. Wish you could get them fresh
I get them from Tescos too0 -
ive moved this to shopping and groceries to see if you get other ideas over here.
This is the only half related thread on old style which may be useful
ZipA little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

M&S do frozen Edamame, Broad beans + garden peas - price gone down to £1.10 recently for the 500g bag. Tesco ones were good up to the ones I bought last week - so many brown and bad looking in the bag, but I could not be bothered to fish them out and take back to the shop. We have asian stallholder in local market that sells soya beans fresh- but they are very expensive and do not look fresh or nice at all. But he does big bunches of every possible fresh herb for very cheap.
I usually boil them for few minutes and make salad with lemon juice, light olive oil and loads of fresh mint and parsley- much nicer than boring sandwich.0 -
Waitrose used to do their own in my store but now only seem to stock the Birdseye ones which are more expensive unfortunately.0

Make a soup base with chicken stock and equal parts of soy, sake and mirin (about an eggcupfull of each), use it to poach salmon, prawns, scallops, etc and add random veggies, including edamame, into it.
You could also add cooked chicken, frozen peas, beansprouts, sweetcorn, various mushrooms, udon noodles, spring onions, leftover rice, halved cherry tomatoes, a boiled egg, etc.
Great way of getting a meal out of next to nothing, but the edamame add enough protein to make it filling.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
I have been buying these from Tesco for the last 6 months and have seen a good drop in the price too. I always throw a handful in my lunch salad when I make it in the morning, by the time it gets to lunchtime they are defrosted and are delicious. They are Tesco's own, in the veg freezer near the greenbeans and peas, etc0

Whole foods do two types - in pods and shelled. I buy them in pods, boil them for 5 mins then serve with salt.GC: Jan £118.67/£175
