Debt relief order, Car accident, Compensation payout.

I have a debt relief order which is in force.
Please could anyone inform me, if I have a car crash and it is not my fault and the insurance company pays me compensation for my injuries.
And the insurance company informs the DWP of this payout by law.
Do I then have to inform the insolvency service or are they automatically informed?
If however this compensation is not paid to me until after the time is up on the debt relief order do I still have to inform them?
i.e if they make the payment after the order has ended, but the compensation was for an accident that happened while the debt relief order with in action.
Do I get to keep the money or do I have to inform them?
Thank you for your time and information

You should always be up front, then you dont have to do any worrying for the next, well, years really because if they find out even 10 years down the line the sxxx will hit the fan.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

Hi,
What matters is when you actually receiVe the money, not when it was claimed, or the period it relates to. Any cash lump sum in almost all cases above £300 is required to be notified to the DRO unit and carries a high risk of the DRO being revoked.
Generally no one will notify the DRO unit for you, this is your responsibility. You do not have to notify anything once your DRO year has ended.
