OOh! Good old vinegar....

I bought from e-bay, an ultrasonic jewellery cleaner, not very expensive, under a fiver, and battery operated. Some are electric, do the same job, and cost lots more.
I used it and was disappointed. Either my jewellery was not mucky, (a possibility - as I use an old toothbrush and AVON shower Gel, to clean it when in the bath, and this also brings it up a treat but tedious to do...) or it just was a pile of pants, one of them gadgets which are useless...!
I mentioned it to my friend and I said perhaps it was not such a good buy... then he suggested using vinegar in the cleaner. Thinking of my success with it (vinegar) when cleaning my windows I thought I'd give it a try. I added the water, a drop of squeezy, and some vinegar....
What a result! It all looks like new, like in a jewellers window!! I am very impressed!! Hurrah for VINEGAR!!!

Be wary using vinegar with gemstones, some are very soft and will get damaged...pearls might dissolve. Think it would be okay with gold and silver, but do be wary with anything with stones in.0
