Hi,

Just after a bit of advice re GE Money and charges

I signed up to a secured loan with GE Money as a 2nd charge to my property in 2006
I am just going through the process of extending the lease on my property as we have put the property up for sale, and our solicitors informed us we should contact our mortgage lenders to inform them. With my main mortgage (HSBC) they have agreed for this to go through no problems not asking for anything but GE Money have said they want £100 AND for us to pay their solicitor fees!!! I could kind of understand the admin fee but I didn't pay their solicitor costs when I signed up - the only things that's changing is the term length
Their latest letter says they sent me a list of the charges after my mortgage was granted but a) I didnt get a list of fees b) if it was sent to me after the mortgage was granted surely it doesnt form part of the contract c) Its not stated on the contract these type of fees are payable - which is what I signed up to

Any sort of advice about where I stand/what I should do would be much appreciated

Thanks in advance
