Pension forecast frustration

I am trying to get a state pension forecast.
I am already registered with the Government Gateway. I enrolled for a state pension forecast and received an activation code.
I entered the code but it was rejected. I typed it again, very carefully, and then again. It rejected it 3 times and then said I needed to enrol again.
It says at the Help desk to open the Services list and under "Action" select "Activate" But my services list does not have an Action menu, just a list of useless things like Kesteven district council etc.
I have been all round the Help menu looking for help, but always get directed back to the same point. Is there a phone number I can ring to sort this out?

The State Pension forecast system seems to be in a bit of a mess at the moment because of changes to the State Pension and proposed but not legislated changes to the State Pension. I'm registered with the on-line gateway system but can't use it.
See this page which links you to this page which has the number to call.I came, I saw, I melted0 -
Old technology rules I'm afaraid - The number to call for a SP forecast is 0845 3000 168 or you can complete a BR19 form - dare I say it you can get this online!0
-
Yup, online system says -
"If you are a woman born after 5 April 1953, or a man born after 5 April 1951, we cannot provide you with a State Pension Forecast at the moment.
We are making essential upgrades to the service to reflect some changes to the State Pension rules.
This includes the date when some people will be able to get their State Pension. We intend to reintroduce an on-line service by late 2012."
So, only another seven months to wait!I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

I am registered online for this service and used it only a few days ago and works fine for me.0

So you must be outside these parametersRupert_Bear wrote: »I am registered online for this service and used it only a few days ago and works fine for me.If you are a woman born after 5 April 1953, or a man born after 5 April 1951, we cannot provide you with a State Pension Forecast at the moment.0 -
i always find it strange how things work fine for some and not for others.Rupert_Bear wrote: »I am registered online for this service and used it only a few days ago and works fine for me.
does anyone else think the same?0 -
Oddly enough, a man I know who was born in 1948 and expects to draw his pension in the 2013-14 tax year has had exactly the difficulties described in the first post......he says he'll wait until the end of this year and try again.0

I was born in 1949 and mine worked flawlessly!0

I have just received a new Activation Code. This one doesn't work either.
I have however succeeded in downloading an application form, so I'll complete it in black biro and use the post as in the old-fashioned way. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I wonder if it just sulks for those who have opted out of SERPs at some point?
<edit>
I just tried again and get the same "try and the end of the year" message.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.
