Tuesday 8th May - What small DFW things will you do today??!

Posts: 169 Forumite

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym. :money:
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important! :T
Good Morning all, hope everyone is well. Hugs to those that need them!
Off to work in minute:
* Check banks - awaiting a refund of £26 (big money!)
* Write letter to close zero balance cc - no idea about the details as its about 2 years old so will wing it and see what they can do!
* Drink lots of water!
* Try and drive sensibly
* All meals from stores
* Tackle the washing up mountain
Bit of advice please? - My best friend's boyfriend has asked me to sponsor him for a marathon he is doing. It's for charity but I am really broke (as I'm sure you all understand). I don't know him too well but feel that I should give him something. What would you all do? (am currently dodging the message he left me on facebook until I can decide).
Hope you all have a lovely day

Hi sunshine 22 , thanks for starting us off.
Ref the sponsorship id be the same as btt1. if you cant afford it , id just ignore. theres always loads of people at work doing things and the way i think of it is they ask 100 and might get 40 sponsors.. people generally understand that not everyone is in a position at any one time to be able to sponsor - so i wouldnt worry.
Today, dinner will be from stores, but lunch will be bought out.. as yet again i am ill.. oh has been ill all weeekend so i need to get to cheapy shop lunchtime to stock up on throat sweets and cold/flu tabs.

Morning all,
I've been AWOL for the past few days, don't get chance to post on here too much when i'm not at work but still keep an eye on how everyone is doing. Things have all kicked of at work for me, our company has just announced it is being taken over - lots of office politics etc making it a not very nice place to be plus I am concerned I may well be unemployed come a few months time. Trying to apply for jobs but I just cant concentrate - my head feels so bunged up, does that make sense?
Anyway, onwards and upwards. Today I will/have done:
- Lift into work
- Breakfast from stores
- Lots of free water and tea at work
- Check Online Banking - Done, I'm skint
- Lunch from stores
- Get on with my application form on my lunch
- Walk home after work
- Dinner from stores
- Yet more Application Form - Want to submit it tonight.
Hope you are all having a lovely day, you guys keep me going at times like these!!
Lots of love
