DMP advice for newbie

Hi guys and gals,

I am putting in the paperwork to CCCS this week to get our DMP running. We are 1 month behind on our mortgage (£472) and 2 months on council tax (£170). Our DMP plan has been set for £50 for the first couple of months to allow us £210 a month to pay toward mortgage arrears and £43 a month towards council tax.

However hubby has just started a new job and got his first pay packet at the end of April in which he had racked up 48 3/4 hours of overtime in 3 weeks! If our additions are right, his basic salary a month is about £850 a month, but at his current rate this month his pay should be about £1700.

Obviously I have set the DMP to his basic wage, but I am thinking that as the mortgage is due at the end of the month (in fact the day after payday), that it would be more beneficial to use the extra to pay off the overdue council tax and mortgage.

Now as the first payment to CCCS will be going out 1st June I hop, there will not be any time for me to change the amount as payday is the 28th. Therefore, once I have the paypacket and have paid the priority debts, do I call CCCS and notify them that these have been paid and therefore they can change everything for 1st July's payment?

our debts amount to £24087 with £16761 of that split between 2 companies and most of them will probably complain about the amount they are offered, but then they will get another letter I am assuming giving them the revised payment figure.

As hubby is only contracted to work at this firm until end of December, we intend to throw all our spare cash at this as long as we can. However, as the overtime is not guaranteed, if we get extra in the coming months which is more than likely, are we best giving it to CCCS to split between everyone or are we best off throwing money at the smaller debts which will in turn free up more money for the bigger debts. Also I presume the companies notify CCCS once the debt has been satisfied?

Sorry for the long post!
DMP start date 14/5/12. 1st payment 1/6/2012. TOTAL DEBTS = £24,087.00

Probably best [paying your agreed amount of £50.00 untill you get it up and running for a few month and the other arrears are paid on mortgage and council tax and save the overtime money for another day.

I agree, save up the spare cash and you use it for FF settlements in the future
