Hi Guys
I have not been on here for a while but really could do with some advice if this has happenend to anyone else. ( I have posted this in PPI too as not sure where is best)
So I had a loan with First Direct which due to my financial situation has ended up with metropolitan Collection Agency. I make regular payments to them through PayPlan as they distrubute a monthly payment to my creditors.
I owe Metropolitan £7126 and First Direct have sent a letter to confirm they giving me £4146.28 and are happy to offset this to my debt.
My question is has anyone been in this situation and considered contacting the collection agency to see if they will use the amount to wipe the whole debt?
Any feedback would be grateful as I am elated with this just wondered if worth calling them to see if I can negotiate
Leanne
PS I hope this is in the right thread

No harm in asking, they may accept it as a settlement figure depending on how long you have been with Payplan.DEBTFREE AND PROUD!!0

Thank you I thought so too. I been with pay plan a year and I have messaged them and they said to agree to the sttlement but if I can get the debt written off that would help me immensely or they are going to be waiting for the next 5/6 years for the settlement of the outstanding balance0
