The dreaded word - but have you tried agencies? Not the general run of the mill ones, but those who recruit specifically for these sorts of roles. If you can get one assignment and prove reliable and good, you'll find plenty of work in the future. I use a specialist agency and am never out of work, and I know project/ programme managers who do nothing but agency work. Obviously location helps - if there are cities around you there is more work of this type.

Yes I have registered with every agency I can and those that offer temp work. I am beginning to think I am cursed! There are some people that dont work as hard at their jobs as I have worked at job searching and applic completing!

Have you signed up as an associate with all the big companies for day rate training? Manual handling, first aid, sales, whatever you can swing.

It doesn't pay a fortune but it pays more than dole. There are some right numpties doing it so if you are competent you should be in demand.

I havent but I will look into that, thank you.

Problem is the sectors your experienced in have been massively hit by the cuts. I second the advice given that you need to get to the CAB for a full assessment of your benefit entitlements.
Have you looked into doing support work or something like that while your looking? What about temping in childrens homes or care work if you can manage it?
Your not cursed its like this for a lot of people who are not working. I know loads of people with backgrounds in the 3rd sector who are out of work.
