Freelance writing/research

Hi,

I've just done a google search for freelance writing jobs/research and similar. There seems to be 100's if not 1000's of companies offering this - does anyone have any experience of this type of work? They seem to advertise that the pay is quite good too.

It seems that it can be quite flexible around existing employment, and I am considering it as a way to up my income (and possible boost my CV too), but I don't really know enough about it.

There are also similar ish things offered on people -per-hour, but they all seem to demand experience of freelance writing, nothing that I have done before.

If anyone does this, or has done this in the past, I'd love to hear your experiences, and a company recommendation would be great too.

Thanks,

D9

Looking for things i can do from home i've downloaded a number of books by people who do writing from home. They all seem to agree that with perseverance you can make a decent living but getting started is difficult. When you bid for jobs off the Internet you're up against people from all over the world some of them in the likes of China or India may be willing to work for tuppence-a-day. So it's a long slog where you may have to work for low pay while you build up a reputation as someone who can deliver quality work.
