Skimmed milk prices

My mother called me cos her broadband was down and asked me to check skimmed milk prices on mysupermarket.

Interestingly the Duchy Originals from Waitrose organic fresh skimmed milk 4 pints/2.27 LTR at 1.69 is cheaper than the Cravendale skimmed milk 2 LTR even when on special offer when you work out the per 100ml price. Essential Waitrose skimmed milk 1 pint and 2 pints are dearer than the organic per 100ml until you get to the 4 pint size.

In Tesco, Yeo Valley organic skimmed milk 1 LTR is £1, so is the bog standard Tesco pure fresh skimmed milk non-organic.

Cheapest skimmed milk on special offer at 4.4p/100ml is ASDA British skimmed milk 4 pints/2.27 LTR 2 for £2

I can only drink Cravendale and always buy it when its on 2 for £3. It annoys me when I pop into Waitrose and they only have 1 bottle left!

in sainsburys they are doing 2 milk bags for £1 pls free juggit, each bag is 2 pints, so its cheaper if you dont want organic and you can freeze the bags, they also have a 2-3 week useby date.

I've often seen offers like that in Waitrose and was sometimes tempted. My problem is that my housemates both use Skimmed milk and I can't stand it, so i'm the only one who buys Semi-Skimmed, hence why I buy Cravendale. It lasts a week after opening.

I buy UHT skimmed 49p litre (value)

Ocado / Waitrose I buy 2.7 litre £1.25 Skimmed Fresh as they don't do the 49p litre UHT.

I used to buy to because it lasted a week. However I could only get normal milk one week and that lasted just as long. So, I just buy normal milk now.

I could probably do that, and save money, but I like the taste of Cravendale now and can't drink anything else.

We drank Cravendale for a few weeks so that DGD could have her backpack:D now it's back to whatever's cheapest. Usually £1 for 2l/4pts somewhere.

I find the best price for 4pts skimmed is Iceland at £1. My local Asda did use to have a version called "The One" (i.e. 1% fat and 2litres so short of the 4pts)) for 89p but the last time I was in it had been replaced by semi-skimmed.
