I have the general tier 1 visa to apply for permanent residency in Jan 2013,i have been in this country for 7 years.I want to apply for mortgage with My patner. What is the possibility of getting a mortgage with 8 months to PR.Or are we better off waiting till after our PR before buying a house.Plus we just have 10% deposit and we want to buy through shared equity mortgages.Thank you for your response

Each lender will have their own criteria, some banks will probably require permanent residency others won't (Halifax for example). You could either ask lenders directly or ask a independent broker for advice on your position.0
