Poach them in milk, flake off the salmon then use the poaching milk to make a herby/black pepper/lemony/cheesy white sauce and toss sauce and salmon into spaghetti?

Just a thought.... are you going to talk to CS about it? Unless they charged you less, if you got something that was lower quality than you paid for, have you not got the right to complain? You might get a credit for your next order.

Might still be worth contacting CS though. Can't hurt, and you never know. What's the worst that can happen?

If you ordered fillets they shouldn't have bones in them. They sound more like salmon steaks, which have a large bone in them with a few smaller bones. I would definitely complain to CS.

I'm afraid I really doubt CS would do anything about it...

For those that don't know, when you have a delivery from Asda and they don't have what you've ordered they pick something close to it and send that instead. The delivery driver makes it really clear that they have made a substitution and you have the choice to accept it or send it back. If you accept, you either pay for whatever was ordered or the product that was delivered, whichever is cheaper... (I think that's how it works anyway)

So I guess OP you're saying you have accepted them without realising they weren't any good for what you wanted?

Could you perhaps poach them and then sort the meat from the bones and make a fish pie? Or perhaps fish cakes?

I have a very similar thing in my freezer but from Tesco. I found them more bone and skin than fish and have to get round to using the rest. I think I am going to have to go for the cooking first and make a fish pie or adding them to a sauce. They certainly aren't much good just as they are. The fresh ones I have tried have been alright but the frozen ones are awful.

thanks for all your replies. i think my best option is to cook the fish in one session and sit in front of the tv flaking it for fishcakes. i'll do it when i have a free afternoon with nothing better to do lol
