Companry Pension fund price

I hope this is an easy question.
I have an old company pension which is invested in the
Legal and General Global Equity (60L40) Index Fund
The valuation that is on the company pension site, and on the benefits statements, as of 1st April 2011 is £1.512 / unit. However, if I check this on trustnet, or the L&G website, I see a significantly higher valuation (10% or so higher).
Any thoughts please?
Thanks,

Because its now more than a year later and the price has increased since 1st April 2011? The price will change daily.0 -
Thanks for the reply Linton, but I'm sorry- I should have explained better-
The price Trustnet/L&G says the fund was at a year ago is 10% higher than the price that my ex-employer's website says it was on the 1st of April; the same is true if I go back to previous year statements as well.
Is there any good reason why my employer's "version" of the pension fund should be lower than the other ones?0 -
I checked this out, and found (a) this does seem to be fund with only 1 'flavour' and unlikely to be confused with any other similar fund, and (b) by adding it to one of my dummy portfolios as of 1st April 2011, I find it defaulting to a unit price of 166.1 on that date.
It currently stands at 162.3
So I can see your dilemma. Time, perhaps, to ask then directly. This fund seems to have started in 2005 [you say an 'old' pension], but my understanding is that if you had a previous version, it would still be quoted daily on Trustnet.0 -
If your pension uses institutional funds rather than retail funds then there will be a difference.
L&G have loads of versions of their funds. The data sites typically only give away the retail versions on their sites. They save most of the institutional data for those buying their software.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. Agree. We have schemes with what appear to be the same fund names but differing prices. It only takes one tree to make a thousand matches, it only takes one match to burn a thousand trees. As well, the cars are all passing me, bright lights are flashing me.
Johnny Was. Once.
Why did he think "systolic" ?0 -
Ah... more stuff to make it complicated!
Ok, thank you. Will the performance of the retail version be similar to the institution one, do you know? Or can I not even assume that?

Typically, the difference is charges. So, as long as you have the right fund to match it against, the performance info will be similar enough.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
