Cccs dmp for £24,087! Am I the worst case?

I have recently (last night) sat down at the laptop to sort out where we stand financially.
My husband has just started work again after a short period of work and his job is monthly paid so needed a pay slip before doing anything.
I have based the figures on his basic pay and it says that we only have £50 a month left to pay towards the dmp. However it is allowing us £250 a month towards priority debts (mortgage and council tax which are only 1 & 2 months behind respectively.
We also have a plot of land for sale at the moment which if sold would clear everything except the mortgage.
When we have cleared the priority debts will Cccs contact us to change the monthly figure or will we have to contact them and if you have extra earnings can you pay extra?

I pay extra into my DMP whenever I can....Dont wait for them to contact you, be pro-active and email any change or concern- they will reply.
I started on 34k 18 months ago and it does go down- now under 15k but you must be prepared to completely change your spending and throw every spare penny at it, you'd be surprised how much you can save if you put your mind to it.
I often see people say they dont want to cut back too much as they can't have a life without treats. I chose the opposite and I will treat myself when the debt is gone- with cash.
Good Luck.LBM Nov 10 owing £34,043 - (DMP with Stepchange)

Does not matter that the priority debts are taking £250 this MUST be paid first. This is why they are priority debts. Wish our mortgage & CTX combined were so small.
As you are trying to find the funds to pay off the non priority debts remember when the money comes through to try for full & final settlements. This may leave you with something left over after all these are paid.Truth always poses doubts & questions. How do you pay extra? My hubby's paydaye is the 28th so we don't know till then how much overtime/extra pay he has earnt.
Do you just make a payment via your bank?DMP start date 14/5/12. 1st payment 1/6/2012. TOTAL DEBTS = £24,087.000 -
Mrs arcanum. Thanks but not worried about the extra it's taking, was just illustrating that after 2/3 mints it won't still be £50 a month. We are cutting back where possible, but also last month hubby earned about £300 in overtime, so that will be going towards it as well!DMP start date 14/5/12. 1st payment 1/6/2012. I pay extra amounts directly to the cards as its different every month depending on my earnings which can go up or down.
CCCS dont actively encourage this as payments should in theory be fairly divided but I have one still charging me interest so I hammer away at that one.

Well done on paying so much off. Homeward straight now. Do you mind if I ask if CCCS have challenged you on the extra payments. It's just ots something I'd like to do as I have one credotor who is hammering me with 28% interest.

I love your attitude :T
I have managed a little declutter and now have a load of listings on ebay and every penny will be going towards our NatWest overdraft. As will OH's examination marking money over the next couple of months. When that is paid off, we will start on the Lloyds TSB overdraft then the M&S loan. Any company still charging us interest will be paid off ASAP. I know it's not considered fair by CCCS but these banks have had thousands in interest from us over the years and they are not treating us fairly now. We want to pay back every penny we owe but do not want to pay one more penny in interest that is not necessary.
