Gosh people are so helpful, I do appreciate it, its such a relief having someone to talk to about it as there is no one. My heart lurches everytime an envelope hits the floor, and the disgusting thing is years ago, many years ago I was left heavily in debt after my marriage ended and I did go bankrupt and swore I would never get in debt again and it is shameful that Im here again !!

Sometimes it's good to talk to people not connected with this and can offer advice without pre-judging you, as Anthorn said do you know if this has gone to court? There is a world of difference between court appointed bailiffs and debt collectors, to give the best advice its needed.
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

i think you need a strongly worded letter to the housing benefit people to ask why they say you owe the debt. if the bailiffs are writing to you then the relevent council will of put the matter out to distress otherwise Philips would not be pursuing the case.
If you put the case out to dispute then the council will tell philips to hold action while they get all the relevent info for you and you can argue your case with the council

I have had no legal communication from any court, no notification from the council that it hss gone to court, just the letters from Phillips, I think they are acting as a DCA in this instance but if Im wrong it is worrying.

I will ring housing benefit tomorrow when I get in I may well owe some but it s less than half they are claiming.

I wrote to Philips as I said saying to stop harrassing me as the debt is in dispute and I will ring HB tomorrow and let you know what happened, I will make an arrangement to pay HB direct if they are willing.

    Fingers crossed
Again many thanks for everyones support
