just to let you know asda will be getting a few PS3 into each store for sale at £424 with a twenty pound deposit if you reserve one, it will be something like 10 in each store.

there was something on here about the ps3 not being all its hyped upto be and alot of people have cancelled their reservations on them; it was something to do with them not playing the games from the other playstations.
i'm not 100% sure what it was all about because i know i wouldn't dream of spending that amount of money on a console.

They will only be able to play 41% of the PS1+2 back catalogue which at 1000 games ain't too bad, the rest will be added on at a later date.

They will play virtually 100% of PS1 games and an unknown % of PS2 games. It's the straw which broke the camel's back for many people. Sony have steadily downgraded the system since launch, though a very very very reliable source has told me about some very exciting things coming within the first few months of launch which we're not expecting. It's just the PS3 has been a PR disaster.

The Asda-Wall Mart store is Wigan is getting 52 PS3 consoles on launch day so I think there will be plenty still available as £424 per console is a bit steep for a system that won't be 100% backwards compatible

I will stick to the Wii that I got last month which is great
