Strange item on credit report

Hello people,

Used to be registered as Benje a while back but can't remember my password or the email address i used!

Anyway, after being refused for a Capital one credit card, I've decided to get rid of some exisiting ones, and check my credit report out.

Eveything seems ok apart from one entry (From Equifax)

Type : Bank
Account Type : Loan
Last Update :09/08/2004
Start Balance :£2000
Current Balnce :£110

Regular Repayment amount : £99999

Now I have only ever had 3 loans in my life (2 x egg loans, and a current barclays loan) And I've got a feeling this was my first egg one.

Anyway, point is this, this loan was paid off ages ago (On time, when it should have been), yet still appears to be on my credit record. The last 30 months in the record show little padlocks, which apparently means this: Transaction not received this month.

Anyone any ideas as to whats happening here? Should I get it wiped off my file? And finally is it a simple case of just calling equifax, or am I going to have to contact egg etc and prove its all been paid off?!

Thanks in advance

Ben

if this is the case then there is a form on equifax site where you can lodge a notice of correction and they investigate this. This happened to me while I was buying my house it said i had a credit card run up the limit and never made a pymt after the investigation and me providing some details it turned out to be ID FRAUD!!! but after weeks of communicating between equifax and the cc comp i got this removed (as it was a registered default). So just be catious and check it out.
