you put on the form what you pay in CCC and then provide proof of it. provide proof of it paid though (i,e, a receipt) as they will only ask for it if you just provide an invoice.

im not sure how much is takewn into account butwhatever is taken into account is taken into account as an expense and thus COULD award you more housing benefit.

i tiwll not be used as an income as its one of the few amounts that we take into accounts as an outgoing but there is a limit but unfortunately i dont know what the limit is.

hope that makes sense. its hard for me to explain.

Thanks Anthill I know you would know!

My daughter is in childcare, my partner has just started a job as an apprentice so on low wage to begin with and I have manic depression on long term IB so Im eligable for childcare costs, she only goes once a week so she sees kids of her own age and gives me respite for a few hours.

Im not worried about you prying ant, you do lots to help epople on this board!\

Edited to say I had my 1st invoice today so I wont get a chance to get a recipt by thursday when they are coming over. (long story but HUGE mess up by council on my benefits they cancelled it all with not telling me and they backdated the cancelling period up to nov 06 so my accout is showing a huge debt, my MP is in uproar, this is sort of linked to another post below about a direct debit, when the council took £300 without knowledge as my account is showin a debt that sohuldnt be there!!! They have been summoned to attend Thursday by my MP and the offic to sort it asap and get the debt cleared)

thanks loop. if yu are entitled to respite care then are you not entitled to this free via social services?

we enquired recently and had an assessment for me and one for chops but they said no to us because we both work. me part time and mr mob full time. but they never mentioned only one partner working. might be worth asking your council. if you do expect a merry-go-round before you get the correct department. you may even qualify for care for yourself during the day in some form or another. we were only told no because we both work which penalises us which i think is wrong as on my days off i have difficulty but they werent interested.

    good luck.

and gfood on you for giving your child the chance to mix and learn with other kids. putting chops in nursery rather than paying a family friend to look after her was the best step we took with regards to childcare. chops loves her nursery and is coming on leaps and bounds.

I have an elder daughter who is 5, so she is used to sharing etc, but everyone I know has babies or elder kids, none Isobels age!

Rspite via the council WHATS THAT!?!! :rotfl: dont be daft anthill, the counci ldont care about anything, they gave everything over to an outsourced company....the social services are awful, when I was suicidal, my psyc contacted them to ask for assistance/suppot and they said no!

Lucily Im pretty well now, but due to the nature of my illness I cant cope with stress well, so this day a week is a godsend, esp as I battled to look after her through the worst of my illness with no support, and nonone told me tax credits would help pay towards it, I only found out when I asked them about returning to work options!! GITS!

(sorry im rambling had enough of all this malarkey :rotfl:)

your council sound worse than mine!!!! and i thought mine were a bunch or horses !!!!.

have you ever tried to claim backdated tax credits? i dont actually know if there is such a thing but it might be worth a try.

do you claim DLA also? might be worth giving that a try.

im not in the same boat as you mentally but i totally appreciate the need for a little respite. im disgraced that such care is handed out willy nilly to those who dont earn a bean yet those of us with jobs or a partner with a job are penalised yet we all need the same help when it comes to matters like physical or mental disability.
