can anyone identify this - help!

I have a mystery item that I was given for xmas but I haven't the foggiest idea what it is or what its used for. Can't post a photo so its best description only

Its 100% polyester, has a hoop that isn't a complete hoop (ie has a break in it) that seems to be made of really thick but bendy wire. The polyester material forms a loop so the wire is concealed (like on curtains where the curtain wire goes through the top of the curtain so it can't be seen) The ring measures 25cm across. Its 60 cm from top to bottom and the material meaures 65cm at the bottom.

Not a very good description but its essentially a cylinder of material with a long edge not joined with a bendy wire unjoined circle at the top.

Any ideas what it could be before it gets recycled to charity shop. has been bugging me for weeks!

Is it meant to be something to go over your bed - like a bed coronet?

Hi Evilwitch, it is a hoop that you put on the ceiling above a bed and you thread a mossie net, or muslin through the hoop and drape the material over the bed, princes style. I bought one for my G. Daughter. Hope this clears up the mystery. Cheers!
