Anyone pay monthly to check credit report?

I know you get a free trial, would look to continue it for a couple months after so 4 months, 1 free, 3xaround £6.95 = £20.85 cost and i will most likely have numerous letters to send out to get my credit report looking as clean as possible. I could be buying as soon as a year away so im trying to get it cleaned out as soon as possible. Which site is best? Is it instant access? I have just finished up a job so thats me done for the day...clearing out the soa/credit report/closing down any accounts i no longer use.

Any other steps i can take to boost credit report? There will be no searches between now and getting mortgage application in. Got a mobile i pay monthly and a credit card i clear monthly aswel. Appart from this i have no other direct debts besides my loans.

Might try for mortgage with 1 business loan outstanding..this will be about £10k and paying £300 a month. Am i right it just takes £10k off the amount they would lend? This should be ok as the property im looking at is only 2x my income.

Thanks, i am on there now...will most likely keep on until im ready to get mortgage. Keep track of things. How long do settled accounts stay on there for? I have a late payment on a card. Out of 33 months i have 1 late one, was paid off a day late due to being bank holiday, still no excuses. Would i be best to try and write to them an try to touch into there goodwill and ask them to remove it?

Slim to none I'm afraid, some companies do however most will come back with the line this is an accurate reflection on your credit history and most stay on.

Trust me if there was a magic wand I'd be waving it.

If you only have one late payment the bank may be willing to overlook this if you have good in all other aspects.

As regards when it disappears, it will 6 years from the date of closure of the account.

Will it matter so much about them if i am going for a mortgage next summer and the payment was a year ago, so it should be at least 2 years after late payment that i am applying for a mortgage.

How do i improve my credit rating in the next year then?
