Would flapjacks interest you? They have plain flour and oats. I have a foolproof recipe if you want it? I'll have a look at my biscuit recipe books too for other recipesSave the earth, it's the only planet with chocolate!0

Crunchy Oatmeal Cookies
Coconut Oat Cookies (tried these, they are nice : light and fluffy)
Chocolate Chip Oat biscuits

Porridge biscuits
4 oz porridge oats
2 oz plain flour
2 oz desiccated coconut
3 oz castor sugar
1 egg
4 oz butter (melted)
Mix the dry ingredients together. Beat the egg and add to the dry ingredients then add the melted butter. Bring together with a wooden spoon to form dough. Roll out to about about 1cm thickness and cut with biscuit cutter. Bake in the oven (180 degrees) for 20 – 25 minutes.

Chocolate Chip Oat Biscuits (from Cookies by Hilaire Walden)
Makes 60
115g / 4oz plain flour
2.5ml / ½ tsp bicarbonate of soda
1.5ml / ¼ tsp baking powder
pinch of salt
115g / 4 oz butter or margarine
115g / 4 oz caster sugar
90g / 3 ½ oz light brown sugar
1 egg
½ tsp vanilla extract
75g / 3oz rolled oats
175g / 6oz chocolate chips
Preheat the oven to 180°C / 350°F / Gas 4. Grease 3-4 baking sheets
Sift the flour, bicarb, baking powder and salt into a mixing bowl. Set aside
With an electric mixer, cream together the butter/marg and the sugars
Add the egg and vanilla extract and beat until light and fluffy
Add the flour mixture and beat on a low speed until thoroughly blended. Stir in the rolled oats and chocolate chips. The dough should be crumbly.
Drop heated teaspoonfuls onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing the dough about 2.3 cm / 1 in apart.
Bake for about 15 minutes until just firm around the edge but still soft to the touch in the centre.

175g / 6oz butter or margarine
125g / 4 ½ oz caster sugar
1 egg yolk
175g / 6oz plain flour
5ml / 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
pinch of salt
90g / 3 ½ oz light brown sugar
40g / 1 ½ oz rolled oats
40g / 1 ½ oz crunchy nugget cereal
Variation : For nutty oatmeal cookies, substitute an equal quantity of chopped walnuts or pecan for the cereal, and prepare as described.
With an electric mixer, cream together the butter/marg and the sugar until light and fluffy
Mix in the egg yolk
Sift over the flour, bicarb and salt, then stir into butter mixture. Add the oats and cereal and stir to blend. Chill for at least 20 minutes
Preheat the oven to 190°C / 375°F / Gas 5. Grease a baking sheet.
Flour the bottom of a glass.
Roll the dough into balls. Place them onto the prepared baking sheet, and flatten them with the bottom of the glass.
Bake for about 10-12 minutes until golden.

Coconut Oat Cookies (from Cookies by Hilaire Walden)
Make 18
175g / 6oz oats
75g / 3oz desiccated coconut
225g / 8oz butter or margarine
115g / 4 oz granulated sugar
40g / 1 ½ oz firmly packed dark brown sugar
2 eggs
60ml / 4 tbsp milk
7.5ml / 1 ½ sp vanilla extract
115g / 4oz plain flour
2.5ml / ½ tsp bicarbonate of soda
pinch of salt
5ml / 1 tsp ground cinnamon
Preheat the oven to 200°C / 400°F / Gas 6. Lightly grease 2 baking sheets. Grease the bottom of a glass and dip in sugar
Spread the oats and coconut on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes until golden brown, stirring occasionally.
With an electric mixer, cream together the butter/marg and the sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the milk and vanilla extract.
Sift over the dry ingredients and fold in. Stir in the oats and coconut.
Drop spoonfuls of the dough 2.5 – 5 cm / 1-2 in apart onto the baking sheeta, and flatten them with the bottom of the glass.
Bake for about 8-10.
