Will a new job affect my chances of a mortgage?

Hi,

I am looking for some advice. I currently earn £15,377 and a job has come up with a salary of £15,250. It is the perfect job for me and I want to apply. The problem is the timing, me and my partner have just found a house we like and had an offer accepted. If I was to get this new job even though it is similar pay, the same hours and I would have no gap between the two jobs as I would start the new job as soon as my 4 weeks’ notice was completed, would this ruin any chance of a mortgage?

My partner earns more than myself and due to saving for years we are in a comfortable position for the property we wish to purchase. We have a 15% deposit and enough money to cover our fees and some work that needs to be carried out on the house.

I would love this new job but I don’t want to jeopardise me and my partners plans and this perfect house. Please help!

Some lenders would be OK with this, some wouldn't. You might be able to do it in just your partners name.

Have you started the mortgage process?
    What is your partners income?
    What is the purchase price?
Is the job in the same line of work that you are currently in?
Will there be a probationary period?

The house is £170,000 and we have a mortgage broker in place but that is as far as we have got. He seemed happy with our finacial situation and so i am now worried that I could ruin our plans and lose the house if i get this new job. My partner has an annual salary of £30,000.

The job I wish to apply for is in keeping with my current job which is working with animals. I assume there would be a 3 month probation period similar to my current job but im not entirely sure. I would really want the mortgage to be in both our names. Do you think this is still possible if my job does change within the next month?

speak to your advisor he/she will know a way around it or will find a lender that wont mind.

Is the new job in the same field as your current job?

Is there any way you can delay giving notice on your current job / accepting the new one until after the house is bought and you've moved in?
