Looks like council tax is not included unless I missed it.

Can see even more appeals for support group in cases where DLA/PIP is not in place.

    - yep ! lot's of questions
    - I assume it will exclude all non-means tested
    - a list of potentially affected claimants has already gone out to LA's
    - read it here - its part of a whole set of measures to create a very strong incentive to work
    - all people need after this precursor to UC is jobs, and that's never going to happen

What i do not get is if you get less than the 500 pound cap at the moment will it go up or stay the same, also, if you recieve one of the benefits that make you exempt from the cap would you recieve more than the 500 pounds.

My dd gets DLA and i am still her guardian claiming child benefit so does this make my house hold exempt?

I recieve no where near the 500 pounds per week any way, so would they do it on a percentage depending on wage/region, meaning it may reduce anyway?

    Its really confusing

It's not really that confusing, click on the link Richie gives in his first post and it's clear what benefits are included and what are not. https://viewer.zoho.com/docs/tUaAu

If you receive less than £500 in benefits listed, including housing benefit in that total, you are not affected, or less than £350 for single claims. It will not rise though to £500 or £350, in that you will not be awarded more money to reach the cap.

If you, your partner, or any children you have are claiming any of the exempt benefits such as DLA, you are exempt from the cap.

Therefore you can have more than £500 pw total or £350 pw total if single.
