Old debt help needed please...be nice.

Hi all,
When I was younger and irresponsible I had a lot of credit. Cards, a loan, store cards. You name it, I had it!
Unfortunately I was made redundant and stopped making payments. Since then I have not made any payments and all of this debt is due to drop off my credit report by the end of the year.
I know this is a very irresponsible way to deal with debt but what's done is done.
My question is...whats the best way to rebuild my credit?
I have a Vanquis credit card at the moment which I always pay the minimum each month plus an extra £50 so that should help?
Any help given is much appreciated.
Thanks

You should always pay the full amount outstanding each month. Repaying the minimum will not build your credit rating. Once you have paid the full amount outstanding then use the card again and keep paying the full amount each month. With general spending each month you should be able to get at least £300 or more through the card each month without too much hassle.

:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p
