Debt help - what next?

I simply do not know where to turn next. I have had loans off family members but still I find myself in a multitude of debt. I got into payday loan debt last year due to a gambling addiction. At one point when I couldn't repay I even took an overdose to try to get everything to go away. I'm 20 years old and working full time but there is simply no way I can afford to pay the amounts at once and with interest constantly being applied I have no idea what to do. I currently pay 2 creditors monthly who have been fantastic dealing with me and I have no problems with but those listed below have been no help whatsoever. I don't want to ask my family to bail me out as these are problems brought on by myself and I have to be responsible for them.

My current debt list :
Payday Express - £500
Mini Credit -£500
Safeloans - £500
Speed Credit - £450
Toothfairy - £450
WageDayAdvance - £300

All amounts are approximate figures but not too far off the actual amount.

Last month I signed up to a DMP but I still recieve emails and texts from companies that are on there (Mainly Safeloans and Payday Express). My first DMP payment is due this month but I am having second thoughts about paying it due to letters and emails recieved from the aforemntioned companies. Safeloans keep saying they will take things further and obtain a CCJ against me but my DMP is supposed to be negotiating with them :/. Is it also too late to add to the creditors on my DMP as some of those listed above are not covered.

Who do you have your DMP with? You should be able to add more onto your DMP but you will have to talk to your DMP provider. You should have all your debts on your DMP really.

You will get hassle but just ignore them. Don't worry about threats of a CCJ a lot of the time it is just an empty threat designed to scare you into paying up money you haven't got. Even if they do take you to court it isn't a big deal, they will look at your income and outgoings and settle an amount that you can afford to pay back especially when you can show you have been making an effort to repay through a DMP.

    Hi
There is a thread on this site for gamblers and I would suggest you have a look. You need help for your addiction (and it is an addiction). There are loads of tips such as getting yourself blocked on online sites and in shops, I cannot promise it will be easy to stop but there are people on this site who will understand what you are going through. Hope you can beat this.
Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)

You don't say who your DMP is with but I hope you have gone with one of the free charities - CCCS, Payplan etc and not a fee paying company. If you are with a fee paying company cancel it and get in touch with one of the charities then every penny you pay will be used to pay down your debts and not line the pockets of a private company.

How much do you owe elsewhere other than what youhave listed here? Others are right when they say that you should put all your debt into the pot, as that is fair on everyone. Whether you are with a free or fee payer, Rome wasn't built in a day, so you will get hassle from creditors whilst things are being set up, and as yet you have not officially started showing creditors that you are serious by actually paying it. Once things are up and running, hassle should start to die away.
