Hi I am just about to get a mortgage but I'm also getting a personal loan to do the modernisation on the house, which one do I do first. I am worried about credit checks on my history so I want to get them in the right order. The loan is unsecured as there isn't enough equity in my house to use. Thanks in advance staysafeu

    well if you get the unsecured loan before completion then the mortgage company may pull the mortgage

    Yup, and without the mortgage you can't do the place up, so make sure you get that first and worry about the upgrade loan later.
