MPPI mis-selling because of diabetes????

Hiya,
I have had a couple of successful ppi claims on credit cards due to the fact that i was not made aware that my repayments would not have been covered had I been unable to work as a result of my diabetes.
Could my mortgage ppi have been mis-sold under the same circumstances.
Cheers

MPPI tends to be a little better on coverage than loan and credit card. Ask the insurer as it varies with providers and the level of diabetes you have.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). There are probably 3 options
1) You weren't asked about existing illnesses. Bad and potential claim
2) You were asked and didn't mention existing illness. Unlikely to have happened. Clearly no claim.
3) You were asked, mentioned it and it was excluded from the cover. No real claim opportunity.
The problem with diabetes is that many illnesses can be linked back to it. I personally think that anyone recommending MPPI to someone with diabetes for the sickness benefit is a bit mad.The J is a Financial Advisor-This site doesn't check anyone's status and as such any posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as financial advice. Thanks for the advice everyone.
I applied for a ppi refund on an Egg card for the same reason. They've responded by saying my claim will not be upheld because I applied on-line and all the information was there on the website.
Is it worth taking it to the ombudsman or have they got me?

Did you apply online and request it or were you sold it by someone?
Remember that there is nothing wrong with having PPI or buying PPI or even being sold PPI. It has to be done within the rules. If you bought the product, then how was it mis-sold to you?
There is a potential area where you may still succeed. If the online application had the PPI auto selected or was reverse select (tick if you DO NOT want it) then the FOS doesnt like those. However, if it required you to select it and you did then it was your choice. No mis-sale.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
