Any dealings with Blair, Oliver & Scott?

Hey Guys
Just a quickie to see what issues/thoughts people have about Blair, Oliver and Scott.
I have a loan with Halifax, that was under a self-managed DMP for last 10 months, called up today to make my monthly payment, and they advised that they have sold the debt on to the above B,O & S.
Spoke to one of their reps today and went through a very basic income and expenditure and got them to agree to stick to the £80 a month. As per the advice that's given on here, I refused to give them my card details just incase a few extra 0's are added :rotfl:and agreed to set up a standing order, this will be reviewed again in another 6mths time, and also advised have the option to offer partial settlement in future.
They seemed actually very helpful, and just worried that they are lulling me into some false sense of security (paranoid much!), it just seemed so much easier than talking to Halifax!!
Also, now that it's gone to BO&S does that mean I have been defaulted by Halifax? I've got a copy of my equifax report and doesn't show anything on there but then I assume this has only been passed over in the last couple of weeks, as that was the last time I spoke to Halifax about the account.
Sorry for waffling!

Hiya. I had a Credit Card with Halifax i havent paid anything back on since about 2006/7. I only knew my debt had been passed to Blair, Oliver and Scott in about 2011 when all my rent payment was taken from my account. When i queried where it had gone it came to light this company had been in my bank and taken it!! I owe (£500) luckily after much shouting down the phone they agreed to put the money back if i made an arrangement to pay! I agreed gave them new contact details and they said they would write to me! To date i have never recieved any communication from them. I have a few times rang and got no where. I checked my Experian report recently and it shows Halifax "Settled" it in 2007, but in saying that this is only because they have sold it onto B O S! So its not although i got rather hopeful :-/ I am now in the process of a Debt Relief order and have had to ring all creditors for an up to date letter! I have this morning had to ring Blair Oliver and Scott and got a foreign lady who constantly repeated herself even after i asked them to ring back as my credit was going! Its a 0845 and there are no other means of communication with them e.g email. After waiting 15 mins she has said a letter will be sent in the next 7-14 days delaying my DRO process ! So i guess i will just have to wait and hope it comes ! Good luck with them there useless!0

Thanks Cally, I had no idea it had been passed over to them either, no communication from them or Halifax. Then got cut off 3 times before finally getting through to someone!
God that's awful that they just took your money, bloody cheek, especially since they hadn't been in touch in so long! I've moved by accounts over to Nationwide and have nothing more to do with HBOS. So glad I remembered the advice off here and refused the card payment!
Fingers crossed they stop messing you around - maybe I was right to be a bit paranoid about them
Good luck to you too!!LBM June 2011, Total Debt £45,615

Yes defo i have been advised to open an account with someone who has nothing to do with Halifax or Lloyds as have debt with both! I know cheeky Halifax them selves had done it before and refused to give it back even though it was my rent money! I had my rent paid straight to landlord from housing before but new landlord refuses so have to hope they wont start taking it again! Good luck hun hope you get somewhere with them! All i need is a letter with debt on lol how hard is that? So far its taken over 2 years to get one!0

Actually just spoke to hubby, should I make a payment before I've gotten anything in writing? I don't want to miss a payment though.
What do you think? I've had nothing in writing from either Halifax or BO&S... Dilemma!!LBM June 2011, Total Debt £45,615

Blair Oliver & Scott are Bank of Scotlands inhouse Debt Collection Agency (DCA).
My Bank of Scotland got sold to them about 5 years ago.
Since then, as Payplan have submitted my annual review to them every year, and that I have made every payment on time, I have had no problems with them.
My advice would be dont be scared.0 -

I had a Sainsbury's loan that was passed over to them when I entered my dmp, but I've never had any problem with them at all. Actually found them quite helpful on more than one occasion.
Good luck.Ninja Saving Turtle0 -

Hello...
I had dealings with Blair, Oliver and Scott a few years ago after defaulting on a Halifax loan- I made the required payments in full and on time and I had absolutely no problems with them.
They would just ring me every 6 months or so to see if I could afford to increase my payment- but they were very polite about it.0
