looking to buy some gear for our impending 1st arrival

where is the best place to purchase Mamas & Papas stuff?

anybody got any suggestions as to other brands of equal quality?

these are excellent, very cheap, great delivery and if you visit the store in peterborough slightly cheaper than on web.
We bought most of our nursery stuff from them, we got about £90 off a mammas and pappas travel system, in store have a huge range of puschairs/buggies etc and all can be bought on line.
If you cant get to the store, have a look at the things you want locally and try them out like car seats etc then buy on line, A friend used the online site and found the delivery really quick and hassel free. One other thing with this company is that the gurantee does not start untill baby is born, most other shops start the gurantee when you buy the item

Have you considered second-hand? I saved a fortune on a travel system and car seats using ebay & https://www.adtrader.co.uk. Obviously you need to decide what you want first but good clean used stuff is out there.

be careful with second hand travel systems. you need to ensure that the car seat has not been in any form of crash as this weakens the structual integrity of the seat (not sure how but thats the reccomended advise from midwives/car seat people etc)
