Hello i have been claiming contribution-based Jobseeker's Allowance for the past 6 months and i have now had to apply for income-based Jobseeker's Allowance,i have an interview tomorrow morning with my job centre and this morning i have just received a letter off them saying that i have turned down a job offer and that a decision maker needs now to decide now if i can still claim jsa:mad: I cannot even recall having been told about this job and the writing on the letter is so bad that i can not work out with company it's for
What can i do please?

I'd ask them how you were supposed to have turned the job down and if they can proove it because you were never made aware of any job offer.
You can only but tell the truth.
Good luck.Halifax Personal Loan £23,000 :think:0 -

try not to worry too much unless they have sufficient evidence to prove that you turned the job down then i wouldnt worry at all they are just out to make people worried 9 times out of 10. good luck when you go though.

HappyDale, you need to play this one carefully. 'Refusal of Employment' (the thing they're going for) doesn't just mean that they think you may have turned down a job offer. They can even get you for not applying or not attending an interview. I would make a check about the job they supposedly sent you and take it from there. They have to record any job they send you on the computer system - it doesn't mean they always send a letter though! I used to work in a Jobcentre and was an 'Adjudication Officer' for while. Check it thoroughly before answering any questions. They will send you a questionnaire asking for information but don't send it back until you get all the facts off the Jobcentre first. Try not to worry in the meantime. If you have a record of all the jobs you've applied for - use it. If you haven't. start making a list!"How far you go in life depends on you being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of the weak and the strong. Because someday in life you will have been all of these."0

thanks. it say's that a doubt has arisen on my claim for jobseeker's allowence and that it appes that i may have refused an offer of employment, i was notified of an employment opportuntity with ( company i can not even work out) which i failed to apply for.Tigger36 wrote:HappyDale, you need to play this one carefully.
