Endowment Complaint Letter - Help!

Hi,
I followed the link to the Which site, to fill in the blanks and auto generate an Endowment Complaint Letter.
There is one thing there though that I'm not sure of.
"Name & Address of the company who employed the advisor who sold you the policy" - the guy that advised us was based at the Estate Agent, but I don't know if he was employed directly by the building society he recommended us to go to. This was 1989 - I've still got most of the documentation (maybe all). So I'm not sure who to cite for this? Also, I'm trying to find the addresses. I think the Estate Agent is still there, but I think the building society (Leeds Permanent, Wellingborough Branch) has merged and changed name? I can't Google anything useful for Leeds Permanent / Wellingborough.
Prior to following the link to the Which letter, I had assumed my complaint would be direct to Legal & General, who my endowment is with. I'm now not sure...
If anybody can please give me any advice, I'd really appreciate it!
Cheers,
Rich

Hi,
any questions where you are unsure of the answer just say so, it was a long time ago. Send your complaint initially to the endowment company they should have record of who sold you the policy as that person is probably still recieving commision they will also be able to tell you if they were a tied agent or not.

Hi Vinno,
Thanks for that - I'll just send to the Legal & General then!
Cheers,
