Halifax Mortgage and Salary Query

Hi
Just applied for a mortgage with Halifax after their 'pre-approval' of the application, I explicitly queried the fact that part of my salary (as i'm in the RAF) was flying pay and would they accept this - they said it wouldn't be a problem - so with that I've applied.
Having sent over the payslip they are now quering the flying pay - even though its fixed as part of my salarym even if I stop flying that pay wouldn't for a number of years.
Any advice extremely helpful!!!
Thanks

I fear they will rate this income slightly and use the same factors with what they do for overtime, bonus etc. which I think for Halifax is 60% (although I may be wrong and have not unfortunately got time to check now)
If it is just an income/affordability you can always potentially increase the term of the mortgage to mitigate any shortfall on the amount you can borrow..
Would think the adviser in branch would be able to have sorted this for you mind...I am a Mortgage Broker
