I love ebay. I have done pretty well -making a little bit of extra cash. You do get the odd problem but for me it's pretty few and far between. I suppose send things recorded if they are really expensive/or if you'd be devastated to lose it.Since starting again after beanie: June 2016: Child development DVDs, Massive Attack tickets. July: Aberystwyth trip, hotmilk nightie. Aug: £10 Hipp Organic vouchers, powerpack. September: Sunglasses. October: £30 poundland vouchers.0

Hi boot fair - pack car night before, up early, unload & dispaly, get wet if it rains, burn if the sun is out, buy or take food and drink, pack up car come home, unload, Phew! busy but rewarded as you make money and your costs R fuel, and pitch money (£4 - £10) meet lots of people lots of chatting,
Ebay comfy indoors, list anytime you like. sit back and wait for sales. pack em and post.
My advice, wait until Ebay has free listing weekend, usually 1 a month;) take note 99p start is good but bear in mind, if you sell for 99p and you get your postage wrong (like i have several times) with ebay $ paypal fees you r out of pocket. Never put item as postage free by adding cost to price as Ebay charge for the whole amount, there are no discounts. Be very clear on discription and make sure it is a really good photo. Clothes you get 12 pics for free but NOT on children catagory
Good luck which ever you decide!:beer:0 -
we do quite well listing our little market stall's
stock on ebay
but it can be a long haul to get those first sales moving
as for items never arriving we have about 300 sales a month
and say 2-3 dont arrive (or buyer claims they dont arrive)
on the stall the only way we find out if some one Stole an item
is Catch him at it or after we had a stock take
so we look at Undelivered items in the same way
put it down as a loss in the books
if you dwell over these items it realy eats you away
just ban them from buying more0 -
Free listing w/ends - ideal for picking-up stock to resell as so much stuff gets listed items that normally go for £10+ can be picked-up for less than £2.
Don't forget to add-on the steep FVF AND the 3.9%+20p that Paypal charge.
Be aware that, depending on the category you list in, your listing might end-up swamped by the listers who list 25 of the same item as 25 seperate listings instead of 1 listing with a quantity of 25 items (ebay don't mind this going-on as it falsely inflates the number of listings on the site and makes them look bigger than they really are).
Now, considering all the above, is it worth listing on Ebay?. Depends what you are selling.
I've sold loads on Ebay over the years and only had a couple of idiots try it on.
I've also tried Ebid and found they are slightly better for clothing, but not electricals.Never Knowingly Understood.

I disagree with the multi listings being allowed. They aren't anymore and are removed almost instantly. I once listed something twice by mistake and I not only had the listing removed, but I was given a warning.
It did once upon time allow these things and even to a certain extent, see to allow policy listing rule breaking for the sellers they made loads of money from, but they appear to have cleaned up their act on that one. Makes a change!
