get free £10 for DVD rental

Hi,

I'm new so apologies if this has already been posted.

If you sign up to lovefilm on the below link you can get 5 free DVD rentals and they will send you a £10 cheque after 20 working days of registration. You can still cancel your membership before the 30 days trial.

It says that the cheque is sent out within 20 working days of registration so I don't know if it would clash with the end of the 30 day trial (maybe sign up on a sunday night?)

I know the majority of you have already done the trial with lovefilm but this is for people that haven't taken it up yet.

While signing up I noticed one of the pages states that people will be charged after 5 rentals (fair enough), or 21 days, whichever comes first. Which is it, 21 days or 30?

EDIT: Also, does the free 5 rentals include games?

I thought Lovefilm was on the list of swear words banned from the site?

Be aware that you may have to fight for months to see anything back from this awful company.

Personally I'd like to see them closed down and their Directors prosecuted by the OFT for their appalling CS and the hassle they've caused customers.

God help me for getting myself involved with this, but £10 is £10!

It says in the terms & conditions for this offer that to qualify for the dosh,

customers must fully complete the registration process and not cancel before their first DVD rental dispatch. The registration process includes providing an e-mail address, password, home address, credit card details (to verify identity) and creating a selection of at least 10 titles.

How do I manage this without getting 10 titles sent out? I ask, as the trial ends & charging starts after the 6th title is sent out

Cancel when you have your 5th rental out, then when that one is returned you won't be sent any more.

Definitely worth asking for God's help with Lovefilm SparkyMark - She might be your best bet!

Answer: You create a waiting list of at least 10 (make it 20 to be safe) - they'll only send out one at a time (or 2 if you ticked that choice) and only send more when you return the one(s) you have. Hence you've complied with the T&Cs and they can't make that excuse.

It's only the Selection list number in the T&Cs that counts - not how many you actually receive.

Please do not think I'm encouraging you with this answer.

What i would do though if you go ahead is to print out a copy of the webpage showing your 10, so that you have physical evidence you created the list.

Id steer clear of lovefilm, but just to cover yourself then id stick in approx 30 titles into rental list and do not remove them even when cancelling. In fact take a screengrab of the films within your rental list as they have argued with me I only had 2 in list when there were 27.

Also my quidco redemption by them was declined

Who knows SparkyM?! :rotfl: They like to change their minds when they feel like it. I would never recommend this company and I'll certainly never use them again. :mad:
Ignore the 30days, that's incorrect. That is one of the bits they made up - It's 21 days (It has been with a previous '30 day trial' they had running).

You can check, double check and triple check you've read and followed their t&c's fully but they will tell you you're lying, charge you and not provide with whatever voucher/money they're pretending to offer this time.
Not worth the hassle for most, might be worth searching for Lovefilm/Boots on here, you'll find lots of complaints and the odd 1 person who didn't have any problems :rolleyes:

This dawned on me soon after I made the post - I saw in my account that I could only have 2 at a time. Thanks anyway though, you've confirmed it for me

I also answered another one of my questions - this offer/deal does not include game rentals.

I understand that I'm taking my chances here, but I have read one or two successful stories regarding this offer.. I just hope they're not plants

Another part of the reason that I'm going through with this is because I would have done anyway, even if I didn't see the offer here - I saw an advert in the Metrocentre toilets which I forgot all about until I saw this thread (yes I know, it might have been for the best!).
