Hi all
We went for 2 viewings yesterday, first viewing was of an empty property that the EA was meant to be meeting us at to show us around. Well we waited for 20 mins and he never showed up, never called, nothing. I am not happy and I intend to tell them so today. Have you ever experienced this before and if so what did you say to them? I would like to look around this house but I am wary of arranging another appointment with them now as I just don't have the time to be sat around waiting for them to no-show again.
Second viewing the vendor showed us round and we really like the property so all is good there.

Why didn't you ring the EA whilst waiting at the property? I would have.0

I did try but they shut at half 4 and the viewing was at 6.0

Next time, ensure you have a mobile for the EA, if it really bothers you.
My own view is that life's too short - get over it.
Was the house occupied? Did you knock on the door to see if the vendor would show you around?0 -
I've had EAs be late, but they've always had the courtesy of ringing my mobile no, and vice versa. I could understand if it were 20 years ago, but there are no excuses now.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Is this a serious post?
C'mon, give your head a shake. There's a million reasons as to why he didn't turn up. Just phone up, ask what happened, apologise if he had to go home because something serious had happened, and re-arrange a viewing.

agree.
Give them a ring, tell them what happened, but don't let it stop you viewing property with them.
Obviously this lack of professionalism will not encourage you to use them to market your own properties in the future, but you wouldnt want to 'cut off your nose' whilst they can be useful in finding somewhere to buy right now.0 -
I'd wait to hear their excuse first.
Yes, they should have let you know. But they are human and humans make errors. Might have been logged for wrong day, time, location, got your number down wrong... I've found not all EAs to be competent I]insert sarcasm[/I.
It is annoying, I had one mess me around so many times - got just about everything wrong. Refused to deal with them in the end.

...and if we were to ask for EA's stories of viewers not turning up, how full would this thread be ......?
OP, before posting this, did you even consider that the EA might have been in a car accident, received news that a family member had been hospitalised or passed away, was called to their children's nursery due to illness, etc etc - any number of things that could take reasonable priority over your needs.0 -
Yes I considered all options before posting this and just wondered if anyone had any idea what to say to the EA that is all.
They have rung this morning, apologised profusely and agreed to show me around tomorrow. If they no-show again then I shan't bother trying a third time. Apparently they forgot.
The house was empty otherwise I would have knocked on obviously.
As for the world revolving around me, when did I ever say that? I just thought it would have been courteous of someone to ring me last night to let me know they weren't coming. As far as I am concerned it is completely unprofessional.0 -

There's no hint of that in the OP
and just wondered if anyone had any idea what to say to the EA that is all.
That question is actually lost in the midst of your post, and doesn't appear to be the primary subject at all
As for the world revolving around me, when did I ever say that?
You didn't, but it's clear from others' responses that it's implied.....0
