Travel insurance for USA

Wondering if anyone can help?
My 20 year old daughter is in USA studying until 18th May. She then finishes her uni placement but isn't coming back until 29th June. Her insurance is through her British uni but she can't extend the cover with them. From a few sites i have looked at they seem to all say that you have to be in this country when the insurance is taken out, she's not here. Or they say they won't insure if you have already left the country. Has anyone got any suggestions as to where/how/who i can get her further insurance or what will be the rest of her trip?
Thanks in advance

You can look at Coe Connections - I believe they will cover people who have already left but you may have to call them to get confirmation. (They specialise in long stay and students)0

Your post has just been pointed out to me by insideinsurance - thank you. I am in EXACTLY the same position! My son is in Chicago through Leeds uni study abroad. His insurance runs out on 11th may but his visa runs until the 29th june so he is travelling for 6 weeks. I was starting to think we wouldn't be able to get him insured but will try these suggestions. Will you let me know how you get on and I will do likewise?
