Mortgage Rate Rise Hits A Million Households

More than one million UK homeowners have seen the cost of their mortgage payments jump as lenders, including two state-backed banks, raise borrowing costs.

http://news.sky.com/home/business/article/16219481 Video:

Just on sky news. 25 seconds into this video shows a London home owner saying she can't afford the mortgage and is selling. She has 50% equity as well.

How many other people will be forced into this as well or will they be trapped as they have no equity?

That's not London Brit, not unless she's instructed an estate agent from York to sell her London house.

Brit, you're not very good at this unless you're deliberately trying to deceive people. The woman you mention is from York not London.

I really want to thank brit for the video because of the attractive brunette at 1.08. Not because you have somehow managed to shoehorn London into your OP despite, as has been pointed out, London isn't mentioned once.

To be fair the very last words are the reporter signing off from
    "South London".

Fair enough. It went downhill after the brunette went off screen.

10% over what they said it was worth in the video and people say asking prices aren't inflated. ;)

11% couldn't pay if their mortgage went up by £100 a month?

    Even I can't believe that.

And good god, look at the excitement over the London error, even though the reporter on the video sates London!
