Mine has just packed up and is long overdue for replacement anyway.
Anyone got any suggestions as to where to look for a good deal? I just want a freestanding cooker.

I recently bought an oven and hob from qed - service was very quick, delivery was quick (even though the hob wasn't in stock at time of order). Delivery company arrived on time and on top of that, were the cheapest prices anywhere. One thing to note is that qed don't offer an installation service.

I'd always recommend going to stores like Currys and Comet first, to have a look around and get a feel for the physical quality of items like these first. That will give you a better idea of what you're ordering online...

I used appliance-direct about 4-5 years ago and they were very good and cheap at the time, but no idea if they're still around / any good (forgot to check their site before ordering from qed).

As with most purchases, a quick double check on pricerunner is always worth doing too...
