Yes I had this a while ago when it was £5 per quarter. You sign up and they send you a voucher. You send it back to them with a receipt for petrol and they'll send you a cheque. I cancelled within the first month, but it was worth it for a free fiver.

OH had this and apparently you get to keep all four vouchers even if you cancel. They will still redeem them. I think we are going to go for it. Seems a no brainer really.

Just a quick note about this - I just noticed that £6.99's going out of my account, and realised that I hadn't received anything from them (no idea how I missed this before - it's been going for 3 months now!).

Called them up to ask what was going on and it turned out Barclaycard had given them my old address, even though I'd already updated my new address with them. If you've moved recently, worth double-checking the address they have. The lady I spoke to was very helpful though, and is re-sending my vouchers to my new address. (Apparently).
  • All the Barclaycard members of my household got a £10 per quarter offer, now £20 per quarter!

I received the mailing three or four months ago, then phoned the number provided to let them know I was cancelling.
The chap I spoke to was a bit pushy, wanting to know why I wanted to cancel, but when I insisted he told me that I would not be able to use the £20 vouchers. I've held off applying for my first one, but the wording seems to imply that you get the £20 vouchers, even if you don't go through with the £6.99 per month. Can anyone out there shed any light on their experiences?

my hubby and I both participated in this offer, cancelling within the month saying it was of no use to us. we applied for the 20 pound cash back after cancelling and both recieved cheques for the amount. so 80 pounds free for us both by the end of the year.

    Hi

Yes we received the same offer: 4 x £20 cashback cheques each, spread over the year (1 each quarerly). £160 in total.

We so nearly threw the invitation letters away as we've not used our Barclaycards for years and thought the letters were just circulars, but luckily hubby read them properly and we applied.

We received the LeisureTime booklet but cancelled the trial membership immediately. We had a similar experience to phyllis13 of having to justify why we wanted to cancel, but never even discussed the cashback vouchers; we just assumed we'd satisfied the terms of the offer by receiving the trial membership (even if we did cancel on day 1!) Just kept repeating that none of the offers in the booklet were relevant to us, and they were happy to cancel - pretty painless really.

We were very dubious about receiving free money back but it's worked a dream! We literally just send off a petrol receipt each with one of the cash back slips every quarter and receive cheques for £20 each within a couple of weeks. Couldn't be easier!

    Hope that helps.
  • I ignored this offer when I saw it thinking it would be hard to get out of, wish I had went for it too now.
