I got one of these letters today, so decided to do a search and found these threads, I'll put it in the filing cabinet labelled "bin"

I had one recently and rang the number and told them to take me off the list as I didn't need any assistance in claiming PPI as I had never had any.Not had anything since.Debts Jan 2014 £20,108.34

Just searched for that company registration number at Companies House that company is showing a status of "Voluntary Arrangement". From checking the documents filed, there was a court order to wind up back in November 2006, Liquidator appointed same month, followed by an administrator being appointed in March 2007. It looks like they are still in administration, as there is a receipts and payments document being filed every year.0

I got the same letter yesterday! - discharged 5 years. It would seem that they are claiming to set up an arrangement between you and the OR to share the proceeds of PPI.(thanks Google!)
DON'T DO IT.
Even if you gained agreement, it could cause soo many issues (not least that if the loan was part of the BR, they can offset - ie pay themselves back) and leave you with the fees after gaining nothing - and wouldnt that be a BR preference??? - DON'T GET INVOLVED.

Just a few weeks short of 6 years for me.
(just the BR order on my credit file now, and that will be gone very soon )

my turn today and I am 2 and a half years discharged.... I knew it would be something to do with my BR - am filing my one in the bin too.
people who have gone through BR are not so daft as to fall for claims in letters like these - we learned life lessons the hard way unfortunately. but I wouldn't change it, it had to be done.BSC #215/No.1 Jan 09 Club0 -
Well I just got one of "those" letters in the post this morning addressed to a member of my family so I opened it and rang this company. I asked for more details to confirm who it was as the forename could be two people neither of whom live at my address although they did for a short while. In fact one of them has been dead for many years.
After reading all your comments I know now which one it was aimed at and will be shredding the letter as I do not want to cause this person further anxieties.
So thanks all for adding your info......:mad:0 -
I received one in the post this morning and a quick search via Google brought up this thread. I am not discharged yet so it looks as they are targeting both current and previous bankrupts.
These type of companies are scourge of the earth - lowest common denominator.
Only 3 days after going BR I also got a letter from a different company targeting me about mortgages.
I'm afraid the only use I could perhaps find for Jefferson Hobb's letter is as a very poor substitute for Andrex but that won't be happening. It's gone straight in the bin.0
