Lost ipod...can it be blocked

My son lost is apple ipod, the latest one out...my sister from Canada bought it for him so i dont want her to know he has lost it, do not have a recipt, he has an account on itunes and i was wondering if they can block it and if so how do we go about it.

Find my iphone is only any good at giving you a feelgood factor. It won't find it. for you
