re-aged debt from llowell

Hi all,
Im hoping someone can offer some advice please..
I recently checked my experian report as i knew i had a few debts from a failed business venture years ago. these debts are now all over 6 years old with no contact yet my credit file shows that llowell portfolio have made two entries re-aging the debt by 2 years. i have never spoken to llowell or entered any agreement so can they do this? they are also making two recorded searches a month on my credit file which must surely be having a negative effect?
Is there anything i can do?
any advice greatly appreciated..
thanks

Only credit application searches affect credit scoring. These will probably be enquiries, so not an issue. Defaults certainly should not be reissued or re-aged. If you have information to prove that the default dates are wrong you can either raise this with Lowell or with us and we'll take it up with them for you.

Hi James,
Thanks for the reply.
I have never entered into any correspondence with llowell so i supsect the default dates they have entered are the dates they obtained the debt.
I will dig out gather up the letters from them, hamptons and cabot and deal with through experian.
thanks for your help.0 -
From what I read on here, DCAs have a habit of changing dates to prevent being statute barred.:beer:0
