In our branch olives are in the same aisle as salad dressings, chutneys, sauce, etc. The 75% off olives were there in among the full price ones."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Good reduction thank you Lugh_Chronain ! Pitted olives aren't as fun as doing the whole ones with a pitter. If you want to keep your olives longer make sure they are under brine/olive oil so they don't go mouldy. My mother puts hers in olive oil with dried herbs in a Le Parfait jar (airtight with spring clip)
While I think of it, if you scrape down into the jar after using pesto and cover the surface with olive oil, the pesto won't then go mouldy either.
As a really simple but good starter or snack, serve whole or pitted olives on a plate with a teeny puddle of olive oil and a teeny pile of sea salt. Dip in olive oil then roll in salt and eat. Probably not for you if you have high blood pressure though !0 -
No green ones left in my local S's. Stocked up on a few of the 11p tins. Will keep me going until the end of the month, when I can eat the real thing fresh, at least for a couple of weeks.:)
Going to the big store later today, so hoping to pick up a supply of the green ones as well, as a consolation.MSE Addiction, should come with a health warning:money:0 -
Oh yum! Not so keen on them in brine so i buy them, drain and fill with balsamic vinegar/ olive oil. Great prices will need to pop in next time im passing.0

All varieties in my local. I also found jars of pitted and whole Kalamata. They were not such a bargain (50% off bringing them down to 1.25) but as they are my favourites I have stocked up.0

Thanks OP.
Have stocked up! plenty on a promotional end in Farlington Portsmouth on BH Monday.
Any reason for the cheapness? Are they redesigning the packaging or something?0
