Eon aren't listening!

Hi, I left rented accomodation last May and am still getting post redirected to me from Eon despite having called at least 6 times and sent an email. I really don't want to be connected to an old address as this sort of thing is key to keeping credit history sorted out - my fear is that I will stay connected to any issues at the property. Every time I call I am told their records have been updated. Then a month or so later I get a letter naming me as the tenant and offering discounts etc. Lodging a formal complaint now and escalating as far as I can go. Utterly, utterly inept company who don't listen to customers.

Once your account is closed and final bill paid, they should have no further need to contact you unless a dispute has arisen.

They use SAP now and that does have functions to include a landlords name on the account to enable auto creation of a landlord account. I'm wondering if your name is set to that so they keep closing it down but you keep being set up again?

One of the Eon reps I'm sure can help you. Providing there is no remaining dispute and you have paid up, it must be a simple issue...unless someone is giving them your name as responsible? You could ask them if someone, maybe the landlord is giving info that is causing this, ti avoid their own liability.

    Thanks Terrylw1,

    Excellent advice :T

    Hi zakarina,

I am sorry about the issues that you are having at the mo, this does sound a bit odd to be honest.

Did you contact us when you moved out with your final meter readings?

Did we send you a final bill to these readings? and was this paid?

We do actually have a department that deal with customers moving house
and I think you would be best to speak to them. I know you have raised a formal complaint now this will go to the Directors' Office and they will resolve this for you.

If you do need any help from me, please just ask it's no problem at all.

    Helena :)

EON will object to the transfer of supply if they are in dispute with you over outstanding bills

    Hey out of cash

I’m sorry you’re having such a bad time with us. If you’re disputing your bill and there’s an open complaint on your account, you should certainly not be getting any demands for payment.

Our bills always include details of meter readings and prices so it sounds like it’s a reminder letter for the original bill that you have there.

We may object to you leaving us if there’s a large balance to pay, if not your switchover will take around six weeks to complete and your credit rating could be affected by this extended period of non-payment.

This won’t happen if your complaint is still under investigation but it sounds like it either hasn’t been logged correctly or was closed. What’s the problem with the bill? Have you seen our complaints handling procedure? You can email me direct for help by using the address on my profile if you prefer :)

Standard Licence Condition (SLC) 14.7 & 14.8 says they cannot block a switch where a genuine dispute exists. So, its only a matter of proving a genuine dispute.
