Hi there
Following on from a discussion in the June 2013 thread just thought I would make a thread of its own for discussion...

All the main travel operators eg. Thomson, First Choice, Virgin, Thomas Cook released their 2013 holidays at the end of last week and some of us were starting to compare the different deals for our honeymoons.

Not quite sure what we will be doing yet... we would love to go somewhere exotic such as bahamas, barbados, maldives etc. but at the moment the initial quotes for Summer 2013 are all hitting around the 1200-1400 mark and thats room only!!

Depends on what you class as summer.....the majority of the 'exotic' destinations you mention are in rainy or hurricane season during our summer (with a very few exceptions).

As always, I investigated the Maldives prices on release day and trust me when I say they are a rip off and absolutely not what anyone should be looking to pay, honeymoon or not. Unfortunately Thomson and BA are now the only direct fliers to Male and are cashing in on their monopoly since Sri Lanka dropped their direct flight. As May onwards is wet season in the Maldives I would risk leaving it fairly late to book, last October I was quoted £4,300 to book the same island we went to last year, you can now get a jacuzzi villa for even less than that!

Cape Verde is lovely. Quiet but lovely. We went there for our Honeymoon and stayed at the Riu Karamboa http://www.riu.com/en/Paises/cape-verde/boa-vista/clubhotel-riu-karamboa/index.jsp

    Thanks guys
Yeh also noted the issue with weather not being guaranteed.

Had only just discovered Cape Verde today and it looks great with some good deals as well, but unfortunately for the date we need to go there isn't any flights :( Gonna have another look though maybe see for even 10 days or something. Thanks a lot

Mexico is great for value for money, especially May/June, although technically it's start of hurricane season it's unlikely (but not impossible) to experience some storms. We risked Cuba for middle two weeks of June and experienced one day time shower the whole time!

Like everywhere in the world, the weather will be what it will be and no amount of planning or worrying can change it!
