Need some serious advice.

Right, first things first. I want to study in the USA. I've found atleast 3 schools to apply for, i don't want to study in the UK because of the course im doing is SO much better over there than here.

How the heck do i get funding? Like tuition fees, living costs, money to live etc. The prices are majorly huge especially with the visa requirements saying you need proof etc of the money you have to live and pay for school.

I need advice on loans, student finance for international students. I went on Yahoo answers and asked but the people are rubbish and don't help at all.

I need approx £34,000 and i will be paying it back! I am so stressed so please please help if you can. :T

  • Have you tried contacting the institutions you plan to apply for? I am sure they will be well versed on hosting international students.

We'd all love to study in the US... I would have done it myself if it were that easy but 34k is a lot of cash to find....Good Luck all the same.

Try getting a job. Work at it for a few years. Save every penny you can get. Then apply for your USA education once you've got enough.

If you are getting stressed when you have nothing, how would you cope owing a decent years salary when you have no job and exams to study for?

Have you even considered earning the money you need?
I would bet good money if you had earnt and saved 34k you wouldn't be throwing it all away on this course, the real USA isn't daily spring break parties.

I contacted one and they rang me and said they don't do any financial aid but i'm going to ask them when they ring me back if they have anything that can help me.

If i had 34K i would be throwing it away on this course because it's the one thing i want to do and i know it's not spring break parties. This is an acting school i want to go too and the UK schools aren't as hands on as the ones in the USA.

Well you could try these people http://www.fulbright.co.uk/study-in-the-usa don't know if they can help you with funding an acting scholarship but might be worth a look. Otherwise I'd ask family to help if they can, maybe in the form of a loan. Or parents if they can afford it as dealer suggested; wouldn't necessarily have to pay it back then ;). I don't think you would find full funding anyway, that doesn't really happen. You'd be expected to pay a lot yourself. You could always get an investor, if you feel your particularly talented. No harm sending a few audition tapes.

Do you already have any drama qualifications? Ie: GCSE's, A Level's, college diploma's, recommendation letter's, etc? Because that greatly improves your chances of funding and investment. Also helps to have at least GCSE's in English and English lit.

Good luck with it, hope you manage too sort out something.

Edit: thought this might be useful to you as well :)http://www.actingcareerstartup.com/usa-visitor-visa.html

Funding for drama schools in the UK is tough enough never mind the US.

I am assuming your parents have said no?
