Possible transfer of a deferred pension

Good evening
I am looking for some clarification on what seems like a no brainer to me.
My wife has a deferred pension from a previous employer which she is contemplating transferring to her local authority pension scheme.
Roughly figures are as follows
Deferred pension is worth at today's figures 4.5k pa
The local authority schemes administrators have advised that the transferring the funds from the deferred pension would buy an additional 19 years service /extra 9k pension pa at today's figures.
Would appreciate any advice or views on what seems like a good deal.
Thanks in advance
Jim
